I am planning a fishing trip up near Alta way up in the north of Norway . I will be driving and camping and backpacking to lakes to fish for trout what I would like to know is over here in Scotland we can purchase maps there call ordinance survey maps and there very detailed , can you buy similar maps in Norway or online and what are they call in Norway. When you took the ferry to Kaupanger did you pre book your tickets? I’m a bit confused on which car ticket to purchase. There is an option for car park, driver, and 4 pax as well as a car 6m + driver. Not sure what the difference is. Do you happen to know the difference? Thanks!

Hi Teresa – thanks for reading! I believe the sites I used for ferry schedules are linked in the above blog post. However, I found those pretty easily by googling the schedules. So if there are ferries you looking at that I don’t mention above, just search for that particular ferry schedule and you are likely to find it. If there isn’t one, it’s likely it runs very regularly and they don’t have a schedule. Have fun – driving around the fjords was well-worth it, and not very difficult. – Maggie
