I took a train from Oslo to Bergen in Feb 1970. I bought a Levin guitar there that I still own. Many wonderful memories of Norway. I hope to return someday soon.

I visited Bergen the first time in 1966 and took the Bergen to Oslo rail trip, this journey was and remains my favourite of all visits and I have repeated it many times since. A lovely City full of lovely people.

Bergen is a beautiful city with fantastic views from the mountaintop, with a forest to walk through and a restaurant to eat at. Take the tram to the top. Interesting museums to look at and the houses on the hillside with colorful doors and flowers to admire. Check out the church with the clock on the tower – dating from the 12th century. And of course, so much more. Bring an umbrella but it doesn’t rain every day that’s why early/mid June is a good time for a visit.

There was a freak snowstorm and I saw someone skate skiing down the street! So magical!
