We moved to Bergen and had the same trouble. We ended up finding friends to watch our dogs. But in doing the research, there’s a place on Åskøy called Hundegårdrden (hundehotell.no). I haven’t been but it look very nice. Good luck

In Norway the culture is very much leashed walks as the primary form of exercise for dogs, so this doesn’t surprise me. Most people that own a dog and live in Norway would know where any dog parks are (there are often some although they’re not that common) and where they’re allowed to walk off-leash with their dogs. Generally people do 3 leashed walks a day. They may occasionally go to the dog park or go somewhere they can walk of-leash but I don’t know anyone that does that everyday, so there isn’t a big demand for it. Some people go running with their dogs ect for additional exercise.

Oh dear, you had to keep your dogs under control, what a tragedy. In case you haven’t noticed the law regarding keeping your dog on the lead is about protecting both people and wildlife. A bit more important than letting your hounds run wild.

I can’t think if Norway as a dog friendly country.
