I had it for many years, then in 1974 after moving to a new city, my apartment was burgled and my hardingfele was stolen. It was beautiful and had a carved dragon’s head at the top, the dragon had a crown and individually carved rows of teeth. I have searched onliine many times, but have never found my fiddle. However, it is emblazoned in my memory and carries with it such feelings of love.

It was magical and moving. I would love to explore the hardinger violin but could anyone advise where to buy one? All I can find are made in China! Thanks for your help.

Yes, to me personally the notes in play on Harding fela, haunts me. It can make me cry or laugh out loud- it all depend on the notes played. Correctly stated Austin, fela was not allowed in the church but rather played in the barn yard among the animals because that was where ‘it’ belonged!

Very interesting and haunting sound.

She has been playing since she was a teen. I’ve been following her since her first album in 1988. She’s still an amazing player, even after overcoming an illness and partial deafness that kept her from playing.
