In reply to Fredrik A. Muller. I have a similar story I was born in Norway . Father Norwegian, Mother -American . Brought to USA at 2 yrs old . Became naturalized ( Mom won’t let me go back to Norway until I was an American citizen). All my family on my dad’s side live in Norway . From all that I have read ( you can look it up on the internet) I am not eligible to reclaim my Norwegian citizenship and would be In the same queue as any non- EU person if I wanted to apply .

My mother was born in Norway but immigrated to the US. Would I still need to live there before applying for dual citizenship?

I’m curious. If I work for company in the United States that would allow me to work anywhere (telework), how does that fit in with these categories? I have a job with a very good income and can work in Norway as long as I have an internet connection. That doesn’t seem to fit into the categories mentioned.

Just wondering…I am married to a Norwegian citizen. I worked in Norway for two years. I receive a small pension from Norway. It is easy for me to return and work again. But, how difficult would it be to get dual citizenship? To obtain a Norwegian passport?
