I am a 78 year old Italian American born and raised in New York living in Tennessee past 48 years. Met my Norsk seaman husband 23 years ago on a cruise ship where he was Chief Engineer. He lived in Nordfjoreid on the West coast. His father had a fishing boat and I , like you, was introduced to the Norsk way of life. fishing ,…food, culture, etc. We married after dating 10 years and live in Tennessee. We go to Norway often.. he has 3 barns and 5 barnebarns there. We have a boat we live on in the summers and travel the rivers and canals of Europe. We eat the traditional Jul food even when we are in US at Christmastime. We try to go to Norway every other Christmas. Again, enjoyed your articles.we were going this month for his barnebarns confirmation and family reunion…but all was cancelled due to Carona virus.
