Are there night trains from Oslo to Copenhagen? I’m looking for night trains going abroad, with sleeping berth.

I’ve twice taken the Bodø-Trondheim night train, more recently with a group of fellow 70-somethings, all of whom slept quite nicely.

Hi Flavio, it's certainly possible to take bikes on board for an additional fee in Norway (the surcharge depends on the railway company and the type of bike) Night train Oslo-Bergen (Vy company https://www.vy.no/en/travelling-with-us/on-board-the-train/bikes-on-trains) Routes Oslo-Trondheim and Trondheim-Bodo SJ Norge company (https://www.sj.no/). Prices for bicycle tickets will vary depending on the distance you travel but they apply a maximum price of NOK 215 (20 euros). You can take a folding bicycle as hand luggage at no extra charge. Other info are just in norwegian but if you write to customers center they reply also in english Route Oslo-Stavanger (https://go-aheadnordic.no/) You can bring bicycle for an additional fee. I am happy to see that the night trains work well in Norway! I will definitely take them on my next trip to the North.
I have a question: do you know if it is possible to travel by bicycle on your night connections?
Also, I would be the author of a research paper on a new type of night train, to find a way to build a real travelling hotel. The work includes innovative interior design concepts, new on-board and off-board services, layouts of different carriages; there is also a basic business plan that verifies the possibility of realisation.
It seems to me that the resulting train should also be useful during the day, for longer journeys than usual; in this way it would be possible to connect, for example, Northern Europe to Southern Europe, living within comfortable and interesting spaces. There are also personal spaces to do one’s work, so the longer travel time does not matter because it can be used efficiently.

Took the overnight train Trondheim to Bødo – fabulous! Oslo to Trondheim was more of an adventure as train cancellation meant we were going to miss our connection, so helpful staff at Oslo put us in a taxi to get to a point where we could jump on a train. Super impressive service and totally unlike anything you could realistically ever hope for in the UK!

In reply to Graham. I have just picked a random night in mid-December and got a ticket plus sleeper cabin for NOK 1,200. So maybe you are doing something wrong.

This was looking forward to 2 months and mid-week. it does not matter when you want to travel it is still around 3000NK. Perhaps you would like to check on this and reply

In reply to Graham. While the sleeper cabins are still at a fixed price, the per person tickets for the train itself vary and always have done. If you are looking for a journey with high demand or short notice, the price is going to be higher.

I have used all the night trains in Norway over the last 10 years or so, but I am amazed to find that the price for a sleeper cabin on the Oslo Bergen line is now over 3000NK !!! unless I have got this wrong. This is a stupid price considering not long ago it was around 1400NK. At 3000krone it is much to expensive, a lot cheaper to fly.
