I have a residential property here – which is perhaps different from having to have a tax card…
PS thanks for your interesting and informative emails!

If I am working Norway for temporary work ( for 2 months ) but I am from the UK , will I have any problems obtaining a D number ?

I now know that in my case I first need to open a bank account. So basically I ‘just’ need to find a bank who does it for me. Do you happen to know which banks do that?

This varies by office and time of year. You might be able to get your first salary paid into an international account if needed.

Thank you for all the information 🙂

I’m moving to Oslo in September and will start my new work (without ending date) in October. In order to have a bank account and to receive my salary, I need this number BUT how many days / weeks can it take for having one (after the meeting with the police) ?
I’m a little stressed to don’t manage to get one before end of October 🙁

Thanks for your help again 🙂

I’m not sure how it’s possible to live in Norway without one. You need it to be paid, for one, or to log in to an online bank. Perhaps you got the regular fødselsnummer number instead? The D-number is only intended for temporary residents.

After last year’s registration at the office, I did not receive any e-mail or mail

As the article says – you apply for the D-number as and when you need it, i.e. when you are applying for a residence permit.
