There is also a lack of road safety by scooter renters, many who do not observe traffic signs or stop lights, which has led to serious traffic accidents. Helmets should be mandatory for all motorized vehicles and there should be a licensing process to train users of these motor scooters.

I always wear a cycling helmet when I use it and I always dismount to cross crossings. However, as a car driver, it really annoys me when people don’t dismount their bike or scooter to cross pedestrian crossings and expect me to let them have right of way.
