Pat S. here from USA. Several years ago I purchased a CD with Christmas songs on it in Norse. I especially enjoy Jingle Bells…It sounds like “tingling best, tingling bells etc. and it has a really great rhythm to is as does the other songs. And when it is a solum hymn it s extra beautiful. And I was waiting for Ms. Eldbjorg to mention Greig’s music. I was in chorus during my high school years and the teacher was Swedish. Every year we put on an Operetta and my senior year it was “Norwegian Nights, the story about the old man that slept for many years and dreamed while sleeping. The operetta is about his dreams. It was especially wonderful because those of us with Scandinavian family really “got into ” the music and dance. The most outstanding part of the performance was during Asa’s death, evidently someone important to the old man. The music was truly mournful. Thank you for introducing Ms. Eldbjorg to us. Pat S.
