Hello, my name is Jeff Taylor (JT) and I am a Resident at the Maine State Prison (MSP) in Warren Maine. I am the MSP NAACP Vice-President who focuses on the civil rights of the population as well as reentry, rehabilitation, peer support! I have took the time to begin creating a NAACP Peer Support Training & Services (Corrections) Model to utilize as a vocational training vehicle for individuals incarcerated and transitioning back into the community. If the individuals who want to participate in the three trainings, Certified Intensive Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS), Recovery Coach & First Aid Mental health Trainings, when released from prison, they will have employment with the Maine Department Of Health & Human Services (MDHHS) Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) as a Certified Peer Support Specialist who can help others and themselves at the same time! It would be great to have a conversation with you about “Normalization” in MSP! There is actually the Earned Living Unit (ELU) that has elements from Norway, small scale (Normalization).
