This is an incredibly stupid move by the govt, I hope that they have strong penalty clauses and a quick get out plan after this inevitably fails.

Here we now have contacts won on price where the company admits after a few years they can’t make it work and they walk away. The remains of our state railway then takes over
My local train company is a subsidiary of Go Ahead (GTR) The service is the worst in the country based on government statistics as well as my personal view.
