The EuroVelo route runs through here and as a cyclist it is very good.
The cycle up Helleren is tough.
I enjoyed an interesting boat trip from Helgeroa to Langesund.
Kragero is a beautiful place and has a connection to Munch. There was a steep hill there adorned with his work.
Sogndalstrand, Kvinesdal, and the very interesting accommodation at the old airport at Lista, Farsund are wonderful.
This is a very calm part of Norway.

Although my wife died in 2012, I still have a house and a hytte in Sorlandet and still frequently visit. I would like to say “Thank-you for the article and pictures, they have brought back many happy memories” I shall be back in Sorlandet just as soon as the current restrictions are lifted. I still think Norwegian beer is nothing more than Eurofizz, no matter what name it goes under.

I live in Australia but in 1997 my husband and I went to live in Arendal for two years because of my husband’s work. What a beautiful town it is and we lived in Kolbjornsvik on Hisoy with a beautiful view across to Arendal. I used to catch the ferry from Hisoy across to Arendal.
Southern Norway is absolutely beautiful.
