We have just finished our last day in Norway ending with 2 days in Oslo. On our previous two days neat the start we visited the museum and were amazed at the decorative arts and costumes. We wandered around the city and ate in some wonderful restaurants. These last two days we zipped down the ski jump, ate at Frognerseteren and have spent the whole day at the folk museum.

Great article as always, thank you.
We love Oslo although spend more time in Bergen where relatives live. As you said, it would be impossible to add everything to the list, so hope you wont mind me adding Ibsen’s apartment. It’s virtually as he left it and an absolutely fascinating visit. The building itself is beautiful. It still has so many of his possessions on show. The guide was superb, so informative and clear. She talked about a typical day for Ibsen, where he’d walk over for coffee before returning to his piano. I can’t wait to go back. You definitely get a feel for the man and his life and could imagine him there.
PS It’s rumoured the ghost of his wife Suzannah is there. During the visit, the apartment suddenly went quite dark as though the sunshine was shut out, something I’d never experienced before. Having said that, the place has a good atmosphere.

Thanks for your ever informative bogs. As I’m half Norwegian and my daughter lives there at present, we visit twice a year and as you say there’s always something new! I love the Resistance Museum and often treat myself to a walk along Akerselva River or up at Ekeberg Park. I would add two attractions to your selection: the Tram Museum near Frogner Park is a great place for transport nerds (like my husband) and for kids, as you can climb over almost everything. I also found Roseslottet, a large art installation about World War 2, very moving.
