How totally odd! Not a quick hour and 15 minute flight from California, though!

We grew up considerably differently – between New York and Norway – and continued into higher education and career. All current national issues!! It’s difficult to bridge even one generation, sometimes. And amazing what changes in just one generation. We are the playing out of modern history!

I chose, first, the article of why you moved (to Norway at all!) from Oslo to Stavanger. I’ve read it a few times before and I love your story! Today’s email is full of every article showing you def have a love affair with Stavanger! The photography to match. “You guys” .. (I need to hear your stories often, too, 🙂 because I asked myself, ‘is this the Mathew man?’ hahahhaahha so) for me in New York with Norwegian roots, you guys are my up-to-date life in Norway!!

I think, like me, if you don’t mind the rain then it is an awesome place to settle. I’m glad you made a success out of your move and good luck with the business. 🙂

I did stand still in life for a long time before I truly realised what I wanted from life. In my 20s Norway seemed like an unatainable dream, then I just woke up one day and thought – life is too short, I’m going to do this.

Buckingham is such a nice town, I really enjoyed my two years there. I was lived right by the hospital in the town for six months of my time at uni. Thanks for your kind words. 🙂

And they always make for some good reading.
In my ignorance I hadn’t actually realized many similarities between us … 🤦‍♂️

– I also moved to Norway,SANDNES in 2015
– Also a Brit loving living in this beautiful area and I plan to never move home
– I have a beautiful life here now with a family, business and managed to get on the housing market ( thanks very much so to my Norwegian partner )

Glad to see someone else understands the draw that comes with living in Rogaland. The big appeal to me was the quick flights home.
It’s a real shame in this current situation that I haven’t managed to see my family for nearly a year. Only via live chat…

Keep up the good work and if you are ever in the area I Run a motorcycle business in Forus called Moto-tech AS 👍👌

Jimmy

For all those who haven’t fought enough at the right time like me, do it because you usually get more commitments with age and it’s more difficult to relocate with kids.

I have no Norwegian blood flowing through my veins but have been captivated by this beautiful place for several years. Although I am of an age and with commitments in the U.K. I still dream of retiring there some day. You left at the right time. Good luck and keep sharing your stories.
