Nellie Library

Numeracy and Math Help
There are several resources for students looking for math help. The Student Numeracy Assistance Centre at Keele (SNACK) provides support to students in LA&PS courses that involve math, stats, and Microsoft Excel.
The Office of Student Community Relations supports students impacted by critical incidents, facing personal crises, or other complex issues. The office is here to provide advice, referrals, training, alternate dispute resolution methods and provide other support students and their families may need.

Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) Program
Our free Peer-Assisted Study Sessions, or PASS, are a proven effective strategy for helping you succeed in challenging courses.

Peer Mentorship
Peer mentors offer support by answering your questions and guiding you through your journey as a new student. LA&PS offers mentor programs for first-year students, international students and students in Undeclared Majors.

The Centre for Human Rights, Equity & Inclusion
This centre provides accessible, impartial, non-adversarial and confidential programs and services that uphold human rights, enable equitable access to opportunities, and champion diversity and inclusion.
Those who have experienced sexual violence can get support, and access services and accommodations. The centre’s mission also includes educating and training the 51³Ô¹ÏÍø on sexual violence.

Vanier College Productions
Vanier College Productions (VCP) is an extra-curricular theatre 51³Ô¹ÏÍø within LA&PS where you can try new things and make lifelong friends. Students have opportunities both on stage and behind the scenes with musicals, plays, show choir, grad choir, improv and sketch comedy, the BIPOC Artist HUB, various workshops, and 1-1 alumni mentorship. No prior experience is required.

Writing Centre
We are here to support your growth and development as a writer. Come to the Writing Centre for support with writing assignments and to work on your reading, writing and thinking skills.
Involvement in student activities is a critical part of the university experience. If you are looking to make friends, find peers, or network, there are a multitude of on-campus organizations to join.

The York International website provides general information about immigration inquiries. For specific questions, you can contact an immigration advisor by emailing iadvisor@yorku.ca or register to attend a drop-in virtual session.
Many students think the library is just a place to get books, however it has multiple services and resources to help you get assistance and stay on track.
Dedicated to representing the interests of graduate students and advancing students’ and workers’ rights across and beyond campus, the York University Graduate Students’ Association also offers a health plan, advocacy, funding, event space, tax help and food support.
